EPIC Enters Agreement to Purchase California Television Station and National Lampoon to Feature Original Content on Dailymotion

EPIC Corporation (OTC: EPIO) announced that it has entered into an agreement to purchase a television station in Northern California. EPIC's objective is to have a direct satellite link to market its original sports and entertainment programing potentially reaching over 4,000 independent stations nationwide that have a market for original and affordable programing. The company has received its booking, management and managers license for boxing and martial arts events.
Marvel Entertainment, Inc. (NYSE: MVL), a global character-based entertainment and licensing company, recently reported operating results for its fourth quarter and full year ended December 31, 2007. Marvel reported that net income for Q4 2007 rose to $27.6 million, or $0.35 per diluted share, compared to net income of $11.7 million, or $0.14 per diluted share, in Q4 2006. The net income and EPS increases were largely attributable to the strength of the Company's worldwide licensing operations and the benefit of higher operating margins in toys.
National Lampoon Inc. (AMEX: NLN), the most widely recognized brand in comedy, recently announced a licensing deal to place content on Dailymotion, the world's largest independent video sharing site. The agreement will bring National Lampoon's web videos to Dailymotion's global audience. In turn, the two companies will share in advertising revenues generated by the additional content.
Disney Online (NYSE: DIS), part of the Walt Disney Internet Group, announced recently the creation of a new team that will focus on building, operating and publishing an expansive line-up of games, virtual worlds and online social communities, Disney Online Studios. Steve Parkis, a Disney Online veteran, has been promoted to senior vice president and will lead the newly formed group, reporting to Paul Yanover, executive vice president and managing director of Disney Online. The formation of Disney Online Studios combines the talents of several of Disney Online's pioneering Internet teams in order to accelerate development of new immersive online entertainment for kids and families.
