SIRIUS Satellite Radio (NASDAQ: SIRI) will be the exclusive satellite radio provider of every game of the 2008 NCAA(R) Division I Men's Basketball Championship, offering listeners uninterrupted play-by-play access to every match-up from the opening round game on March 18 through the National Championship game in San Antonio, TX on April 7. SIRIUS will devote five channels to tournament coverage and be the only radio broadcaster to air every game in its entirety with no blackouts. Games will air on SIRIUS channels 121, 122, 126 and 127.
Connecticut has responded to NCAA concerns that its women's basketball office helped arrange a private tour of Bristol-based ESPN (NYSE: DIS) for then-top recruit Maya Moore.The tour, which might have violated NCAA rules because it may be considered a benefit not available to all UConn students, took place in October 2005 and included Moore and her mother, Kathryn. UConn declined Wednesday to say whether the school self-reported the incident or whether the NCAA considered it a violation and offered a brief statement.
TVG, America's Horseracing Network (NASDAQ: GMST), recently announced a partnership to make horseracing programming from TVG Broadband, a new imprint offering digitized video for online media, available through Hulu's online video service, www.Hulu.com. TVG is among the primary sports content providers for the new Web site, which launched officially yesterday after a private beta launch that began in October 2007.
