HR Department Often Last to Know about Employee Issues; Latest Ouch Point(R) Study from Opinion Research Corporation Finds and Lamar Advertising to Present at CL King Best Ideas Conference

Americans are nearly twice as likely to speak to a friend or colleague than their organization's HR department if they have an issue at work, according to the latest Ouch Point(R) survey from Opinion Research Corporation, an infoGROUP company (NASDAQ: IUSA). Though 66 percent would opt to speak to their manager about an issue, 39 percent prefer to turn to friends and only 22 percent would go to their HR department for help. Respondents over the age of 65, with more experience in the workplace (17%) were found less likely to approach HR than younger respondents between the ages of 18 and 24 (32%).
The newly released research report titled, "Optimizing Application Delivery over the WAN," by Aberdeen Group, a Harte-Hanks Company (NYSE: HHS), found that Best-in-Class organizations are spending $31 more per user annually on hardware, software, and services for application delivery and WAN optimization solutions as compared to all others. The report also found that Industry Average and Laggard organizations are spending $36 more per user annually on bandwidth upgrades as compared to Best-in-Class organizations. The report also revealed that this type of approach allowed Best-in-Class organizations to improve application response times by more than 12 times as compared to 13% average improvement for Laggard organizations.
