Johnson Controls Invites Students to Develop Creative Energy Projects and American Axle Forms Indian Joint Venture

Students across North America in kindergarten through 12th grade are being called on by the Igniting Creative Energy Challenge to design and share innovative ways to make a difference in energy conservation and the environment. The Challenge, a partnership program developed by Johnson Controls (NYSE: JCI) and the National Energy Foundation, is a competition that encourages students to learn more about energy and the environment. It is funded through an educational grant by Johnson Controls with additional support from Philips, the United States Energy Association and the National Energy Foundation.

Auto parts maker Tenneco Inc. (NYSE: TEN) said recently that third-quarter profit tripled on diesel product launches and growth in China. Third-quarter earnings grew to $21 million, or 45 cents per share, from $7 million, or 16 cents per share, in the prior year. Excluding restructuring related costs and other one-time items, earnings totaled $19 million, or 39 cents per share, compared with $11 million, or 26 cents per share, a year ago.

Auto supplier American Axle & Manufacturing Holdings Inc. (NYSE: AXL) said recently it has formed a joint venture with India's Sona Koyo Steering Systems Ltd. The new company, AAM Sona Axle Private Ltd., will be based in Pune, India, and will manufacture and sell light truck, car and SUV axle assemblies for the Indian market. The joint venture will give American Axle a manufacturing and operations presence in India, the company said.

PTA Holdings, Inc. (OTC: PTAH) recently announced that it executed a Letter Of Intent with US Boron, LLC ("USB"), a major chemical lubricant manufacturer that supplies specialty lubricants to heavy industry and manufacturing, to form a Joint Venture to develop and market Mileage Enhancement Modification Packages for internal combustion engines. The Joint Venture will be called Mileage Management Corp. ("MMC") and PTA will license its proprietary V-Flow Fuel Maximizer for use in this package.
