Gilead Sciences Inc. and LG Life Sciences Ltd. said recently they entered a license agreement focused on caspase inhibitors for the treatment of fibrotic diseases. Foster City-based Gilead (NASDAQ: GILD) and Seoul, Korea-based LG did not disclose financial details. The agreement grants Gilead commercialization rights to LGLS' caspase inhibitors, including an investigational pan-caspase inhibitor currently being evaluated in a Phase IIa clinical trial in patients chronically infected with the hepatitis C virus.
